Birthers; Crazy Kooks or True Constitutionalists?

Birthers, for those who haven't heard, are those people who have been labeled crazy by the Obama administration. Why? They have asked for certain documents of Barrack Obama's to be released, especially his birth certificate. Why is this important? The birth certificate proves eligibility to hold office as president. It is one of only three requirements listed by the constitution. One, have lived in the U.S. for at least 14 years. Two, be a natural born citizen of the United States, and three, be at least 35 years old. This is all elementary stuff here. It is not that difficult to understand, but herein lies a problem! There is a hole in the constitution. Article two of the constitution gives the requirements to hold office but doesn't say who is responsible for seeing that they are met.

Do I believe that Obama is Kenyan born? I really don't know! Do I believe that the pictures floating around are his birth certificate? Absolutely not! I know some of you will want to pipe back that the administration has already released his documentation, so let me debunk that first off. What he released was his certificate of live birth. So, what's the difference? What "birthers" want is the long form filled out at the hospital at the time of birth, signed by the physician who delivered, and kept on file at the hospital. What the administration released was a bad copy of the form you get at the health department that simply states that you were born. This is not adequate information in at least my mind to show his American birth. There are two many questionable actions by the Obama administration not to question further.

First of all, why would the Obama's not simply comply and release the records so that this can be put to rest. He has said that he wants to bring the country together as one united nation but they are simply beautiful words that actually mean nothing at all. (Another staple of this administration, saying one thing that sounds great but not meaning any of it!!!) Instead of the simple and obvious solution, he is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to block people from seeing it. Why? It seems just a little suspicious to me. Here is something interesting. The State of Hawaii, until recently, did not accept the Certification of Live Birth as proof that an individual was born in the State of Hawaii, because it was widely known that it was possible for an individual not born in Hawaii to obtain a Certification of Live Birth. Until recently, the Hawaii Department of Home Lands stated the following on it's website: "In order to process your application, DHHL utilizes information that is found only on the original Certificate of Live Birth, which is either black or green. This is a more complete record of your birth than the Certification of Live Birth (a computer-generated printout). Submitting the original Certificate of Live Birth will save you time and money since the computer-generated Certification requires additional verification by DHHL." And that policy recently changed in reaction to the controversy surrounding Obama's refusal to release his actual birth certificate.

Now, I know this is not proof of any wrongdoing. However, I don't think that it is doing any harm trying to get the truth. Furthermore, I call for a bill to place this responsibility in the hands of someone. Until that time I will try and find the truth because I took an oath, like Obama, to defend and uphold the constitution of the United States.

That oath is more than just pretty words Mr. Obama. You will be held accountable.

Oh, please. A true Constitutionalist would have screamed bloody murder when George Bush admitted spying on the U.S. population which is blatantly unconstitutional (Bush admitted that too), and none of the birthers that I know did.

You need to call these crazy kooks what they truly are, which is a little bit stronger than 'crazy kooks'.

Oh please yourself! When the American people first found out about Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act in the times it was already in effect. The right including Rush, Ann Coulter, O Riley, most every American and myself threw a fit. But we have gotten away from the point of the article. What is being said is not a slight to the policy of Obama but to the question of if he is legally allowed to hold the office. I have seen no proof that he is or isn’t. I would suggest that you educate yourself with more than just the whims of the mainstream media before making accusations.
