P90X- Day Two Plyometrics- When will the pain end?!?!

Day two, Plyometrics, done. At the end of my last article I said, "I think the worst must be behind us" I couldn't have been more wrong. Plyometrics is literally "jump training" and after a brief warm-up, the torture begins anew. They have you squatting, hopping, lunging, and jumping for an hour and it just goes and goes and goes. It is very high impact but they do show some ways to lessen that stress to you joints and they give you the option of substituting with X-Stretch'. I considered this when I heard what it was all about because of all the knee problems I have. I decided ultimately to give it a shot and had to stick with it when they introduced one of the guys demonstrating the moves. He has only got one leg. It is hard to complain about knee pain while watching a guy with a prosthetic leg doing exactly what you are complaining about. I will admit though, that even though it was extremely tiring, it was a lot of fun. There was an energy throughout that made it almost bearable. Today my legs are on fire and my butt feels like Jell-O. It hurts to stand up or sit down and squatting is completely out of the question. My shoulders, arms and back are still sore from day one. I don't know how much more I can do. I will soldier on. Only 88 days to go. At least I know that if it hurts this bad, it must be working. By the time I'm through with this program, I am hoping to be built like an action figure. If I can it will all be worth it. Tonight I get shoulders and arms' God help me.

Top-level comments on this article: (1 total)Steven,Congrats on completing Plyo. Hard to get through the first time but it does get better, not easier but better. I am 49 yrs. old and on my 3rd round of P90x. I also struggle with knee issues, but this also gets better as your body adjust. I had 30% body fat when I started P90x and am currently at 8%. P90X works if you bring it. Best of luck to you.
